One thing we all have in common is the want for clear and beautiful skin.

Fruits For Healthy And Clear Skin

We all know that ultimately healthy skin and overall wellness and health begin with what we feed our bodies. We thrive on a diet abundant in whole plant foods, which have all the minerals and vitamins we need for optimal health and wellbeing.

Often though many of us instead turn to prepackaged snacks, drinks and meals, high in refined sugar and saturated fat. These can lead to irritated, unbalanced skin more prone to acne and inflammation.

As part of a balanced diet of carbohydrates, plant proteins, vegetables, fats and sugar, fruit is a fantastic way to provide your body with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which in turn will lead to healthier and happier skin, plus fruit can satisfy your sweet tooth cravings. Here are our favourite fruits for healthy and clear skin.

Fruits For Healthy And Clear Skin

Avocado

Let us start with one which could be mistaken for a vegetable, and definitely isn’t sweet – the wonderful avocado! Don’t be afraid to incorporate healthy plant fats such as avocado into your diet. It is high in vitamin E (an antioxidant which repairs skin) plus vitamins K, C, B5 and B6. Try it in a salad, burritos, with rice, or of course as a classic ‘avocado on toast’ breakfast or lunch.

Berries

Berries are packed with vitamin C, an antioxidant shown to help heal acne and improve skin’s overall appearance. Try them in smoothies, on your porridge or muesli, or grab a handful of them for a healthy and tasty snack! They are absolutely bursting with sweet goodness so try them all – we love strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.

Lemon

Also bursting with vitamin C, lemon is a lovely citrus-y addition to your diet.

We love it added to hot water with a chunk of ginger for a refreshing herbal tea, or why not add the zest to your cooking or baking. Your skin will be left glowing.

Dates are perfect for anyone wishing to reduce their intake of refined sugars, as they are truly lovely and sweet. You can enjoy them on their own as a snack, or include them in baking as an alternative to refined sugars.
